Why you must visit Toronto

Toronto: the New York City of Canada. The city is a diverse and historical metropolis with a lot of great hidden treasures. You can visit Casa Loma, a real castle right in the heart of downtown, or check out the Historic Distillery District which is filled with shops and restaurants. Definitely don’t miss exploring Kensington Avenue and it’s Market where you can find awesome vintage shops and tons of cafes.

If you don’t feel like driving or catching the bus there’s plenty to see and do right on and off of Queen’s Street. There’s the Toronto Eaton Centre mall, Trinity Square park, Kops Records (which is a local treasure for music lovers), and Black Market Vintage Clothing.

If you feel brave enough and have a little extra cash take a bus or train ride to the CN Tower or some other attractions (Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Toronto Zoo, Art Gallery of Ontario, The Second City, Bad Dog Comedy Theatre, Royal Ontario Museum, and Graffiti Alley). If you’re feelings really adventurous look for BATL Headquarters where they have axe throwing competitions and classes, or if you’re really fearless go to the Haunted Walk and learn about some great, but gruesome, tales from Toronto’s history. There’s a lot to do in Toronto, but don’t forget to eat dinner.

It’s said that you can travel the world in one day right inside of Toronto. It’s home to a number of delicious restaurants and bars serving food from all different cultures. Whether you’re hungry for Thai, Greek, Indian, Jamaican, Mexican, American or something else, Toronto has it. Here’s a list of some of the locals’ favorite places: Little India, Cafe Crepe, The Jerk Joint, Meli Baklava & Chocolate Bar, HoSu Bistro, New York Subs & Burritos, and The Grilled Cheese.

Have fun, make friends, explore, and take pictures. This week will be amazing.
